چکیده

Shell-rib structures made of textile-reinforced composites are used in a wide range applications to increase bending, buckling and torsional stiffness. Such usually manufactured differential construction at the preform level by assembling several textile or component subsequent joining separately shells stiffening structures. Integral production is one way overcome disadvantages forenamed methods, such as high manual effort, failure during fiber distortion. Weft-knitting technology excellent for achieving integral preforms shell-rib components with strong connection between shell rib, especially while producing biaxial weft-knitted fabrics (BWKF) reinforcing yarns warp weft direction improve its mechanical behavior. In this work, possibilities knitting technique investigated, finite element model comparing different variants developed validated. A meso-scale Finite-Element-Method (FEM) BWKF used. The simulation results show good correlation experimental data description bending strength stiffness FRP configuration variations. can be further investigation fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) from BWKF.

Meso-scale Modeling of Tension Analysis of Pure and Intra-ply Hybrid Woven Composites Using Finite Element Method

One of the key issues associated with using of composites in various applications is their tensile behavior. The tensile behavior of a composite material is strongly influenced by the properties of its constituents and their distribution. This paper focuses on gaining some insights into the tensile process of pure and hybrid woven composite reinforced with brittle and ductile yarns. For this pu...

Loop Length of Plain Single Weft Knitted Structure with Elastane

For decades, scientists have been trying to define relationships among yarn parameters, knitted fabric parameters, and knitting parameters with loop models. Recently, the geometrical loop models have returned to focus as they assist finding the effective parameters which cause dimensional changes during relaxation. Furthermore, they help designing knitted structures for technical applications a...

Investigation into the Curling Intensity of Polyester/Cotton Single Jersey Weft Knitted fabric Using Finite Element Method

Curling of knitted fabrics edges is one of the complicated problems of these structures. Therefore, study and measurement of curling in knitted fabrics is important. In this study, it is tried to model the three-dimensional wale wise curl of the fabric using finite element modelling. In this model the tensions in different parts of a knitted loop due to bending and torsional forces in knitting ...

A constitutive model for the warp-weft coupled non-linear behavior of knitted biomedical textiles.

Knitted textiles have been used in medical applications due to their high flexibility and low tendency to fray. Their mechanics have, however, received limited attention. A constitutive model for soft tissue using a strain energy function was extended, by including shear and increasing the number and order of coefficients, to represent the non-linear warp-weft coupled mechanics of coarse textil...
